Year of the Hustle

I came across this concept after watching JK Films peeps talking about how 2015 was their year of the hustle.
They explained how they doubled their efforts and their time spent to make better videos and to keep their fans entertained in general, which in return, gives great revenue.
I liked how they introduce this concept and their plans to make everything work.
So I've decided to make 2016 my YEAR OF THE HUSTLE!

I'd summarize my 2015 in one word: confused.
I was pretty lost as I've not set a clear direction as to what I am to do and how am I going to do it.
Being a freshie, I simply don't know what I want to do.
It was a year of finding myself, trying out stuff and generally knocking my head into many things at once.
I made many crazy decisions, all which I had not regretted so far as, well, that's just me finding me. :D

This year, my prime target is to fill my free time doing productive things.
After my tiny fallback last year - not being able to get Masters - I'm now refreshed and back at it again.
Tuitions are now more frequent and I have more 'kangtaos' going on, which is nice.
I'm involved in much more teaching practices and more opportunities.
I'm also trying to applying for Masters yet again, hopefully I can get it this time round.
I hope that this will be the year I get to outgrow myself!

Anyways, I'm still fortunate enough to have time for my friends and some gatherings here and there.
I really appreciate everyone that's in my life now that I'm more occupied and hustling.
I love all of you and thank all of you for your constant support and care.
Let's make 2016 a year worth remembering!

To end this short update, I'd like to introduce my now grown-up chicks!
They are the most adorable thing to me, and they always have a way to make me smile.

Have a nice day pepo!
Smile!

My Green Eyed Monster

After making a quick scroll in Facebook, I had fallen prey to the egoism of social media...
Succumbing to the jealously that arise from looking at what fame or fortune can do to people.
Looking at my friends being chic, enjoying life, or achieving something, I felt myself envying their success.
Looking back at myself and what I'm doing, I felt the pang of helplessness.
I too,  wish for so much more in life, but it seems so far fetch still...

To think of it from another point of  view, I have yet to actually do something for myself.
Yet to make changes drastic enough for any observable improvement.
I need to keep going, keep moving...
But, to where?
That's the ultimate question.

I guess that's life.
You'll never know if you're doing the "right" thing for yourself until you explore everything.
Here I am, exploring my options.
At times I do stray, lured away by my green eyed monster...
Them telling me that it's easier to just start afresh or start somewhere new.
BUT
I've given myself some time to try out this particular path.
And I do plan to stick to it for a while.
Well, if all things do go wrong, at least I lived to say I've tried.

To be honest, I'm actually quite contented with my current life.
This lifestyle is just nice, towards my comfort, but it has its ups and downs.
I wonder if I am able to get through this life for another 3/5 years.
I wish I can do so much more in life.
Make a name for myself, be somebody...
I guess I'll have to leave that to fate to decide when it'll happen.

Well I guess that's what I call the mid twenties crisis
Now that I'm in this particular age, I can't help remembering the last time I met with a dear friend of mine, huiyin.
She told me the same thing, that she was facing this dilemma in her work.
But to me, she was very positive in her outlook of life, very strong in keeping to her dreams.
Sometimes, I do wish I have a foreseeable dream. '
Maybe being 'cincai' is not a good thing too.
Haha...

All in all, I hope this nagging feeling does leave me eventually.
Hopefully, I can be way more than what I am now.
I imagine myself, doing stuff that actually impact and inspire.
I need that day to come to me, sooner or later.
-end of rant-

To my first ever mid-life "crisis"

Well, I'm not really reaching a mid-life "crisis" pe say, more like a mid-life "questioning".
So I am now shaping my path towards education in language and music.
But questions flowed in my head when I begin to wonder if I'm doing the 'right' thing for my future.
Say for instance, how could you be sure or certain about the things you do and how can you guarantee 'success' from it?

(yea, I know, success is such a big word!)
Which brings me to my point.
What do I want in life?

Everybody wants to live a nice peaceful life without needing to worry about basic needs.
Some would even go to the extend to achieve more when they're young, to be lazy when they are old.
They call it the passive income. (another big word!)
Well, Sheng and I had been through several 'business' models that attracted us with the aforementioned passive income.
But so far, we had not found one that is suitable for us.
I stumbled upon this Singaporean blog I'd like to share to all > Be inspired. Be A Champion
And I'd say, I've learnt a lot reading from this.
To practicalise this, there's still some gaps to be filled.

Back to my own story, well, I think what I can do right now, is to focus on getting my basic needs first.
I tend to get distracted at times, but I do hope I'm on the right track.
Well, what's the worse case scenario anyways...
But I'm definitely not satisfied enough with my current lifestyle.
More to go, there's definitely more to go...

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
On a less serious side note, if you guys are ever in BM central market, do give this place a try!
It's a 煮炒 place where they serve incredible food.
It's called the 兴利 restaurant.

Kitchen manned by two brothers

Famous dished include the steamed fish, fried brinjal and fried tofu.

Well, we finished it in no time.
It was delicious.

To the beautiful people out there, stay strong, stay lovely.

A musical journey

It has been, what, 1 month since I've written?
Yes, and I have a totally legit reason for it.  (^ ^;)
I'm now in KL for a training, GCTP they called it.
I'm going to be a music teacher!!!... for four year olds. (/◕ヮ◕)/

This is the first actual step for me in my music career.
Knowing I have been putting music aside for the most part of my life, it was definitely a step out of the comfort zone.
I experience new things daily, I was like a katak exploring a much bigger world...
I'd say, my eyes are wide open for most parts of my training (curiousity + sampat)
But it was a great way to upgrade myself.
I've practised so many pieces and sang so many songs, I've even played on the piano (a bit more skillfully)
I also glad that the teachers here are very experienced and knowledgeable.
It gave me a whole new level of respect for Yamaha.
Awesome stuff...

I'd say going to this training had made me realize how much more of a musician I can be, will be, should be.
It has been my lifetime dream to be a music teacher, and now I'm on track with my life goals...
which made me very happy. (^▽^)///

Chasing goals, chasing dreams...
Yes, I love it when my life is like this.

Le school: Yamaha

Le person: Me!

Prepping for class

Me beside grand piano!

Me beside WHITE grand piano!

JOC concert me

In UM Experimental Hall

Had a fun time there

I've made the decision to partake in next year's Electone festival.
For me it's like a checkpoint I have to make.
Hopefully, I got to try that out real soon.

Have a nice day people!

Peace!

Choices in Life // New year!

Yey! I'm back from Taiwan!
Boo, here comes tough choices...
I felt bad for not being able to squeeze more time out for me to blog about my Taiwan trip.
But I guess leisure have to make way for more important stuff.
I'm finally starting off my career! :)

Hence the dilemma.
Well, it's kind of a complication with date clashes...
I have this training, which clashes with every other things I'm working on now.
Which is a sore headache.
Whelp, what to do but to toss a coin... Lol
*le sad me

It's a new year, 2015!
Woohoo!
Glad to say I've celebrated mine in Taiwan at Taipei 101.
An awesome experience no doubt.

New year is the time for new year resolutions right?
Wrong.
After so many years of making resolutions, I'd say even though many of them was actually realized,
This year perhaps I'm not going to write down each and every one of them like before.
It's always the same anyways.
But I'm still progressively working towards my goals.
The usual: get money, get fit, be fabulous.

Stay cool, stay awesome!

Reflect on Weakness

Everybody's got their weakness.
I do too.
Today I met with one of my weakness - dominance.
Note: today's blog is more of a reflection, the tone is more formal than usual.

Prideful as I am, I just realized that I am a very dominant person, especially when I am faced with other people who are more dominant than me.
This trait is usually hidden behind my 'helpfulness', which I myself didn't realise.
And this trait had brought me great friends and adventures, at the same time, sad and sorrowful times.

Today I lost my temper a few times because of this trait, and I felt bad about it.
I hated losing my temper.
It's just not me.
I'm peaceful loving, but not as humble or obedient as I thought.

I will work on myself to improve myself.
I will not take interest in other's petty stuff and respect others, even tho I may not agree with them.
I will learn from my mistakes and avoid falling into the same trap over and over again.
I need to be better.

I will let go of things I thought was of importance to others.
I will not let these things bother me.
I will leave others to what they may be.
I need to be a better me.

Thanks Sheng for helping me to reflect.
P/S: note to self, recheck exercise schedule.

Juggling Jobs

Someday, I'm going to
- Change my blog's interface
- Tidy up my room and do a makeover
- Spend more time with my family and grandparents
- Spend more time with my dar and his family
- Do some necessary planning for my future trips
- Do some necessary planning for my $$
...

What's stopping me then?
I'm into freelancing, which meant I am currently juggling between a few jobs.
Little did I know, freelancing is more tiring than I thought.
I was snatched up right after my finals.
And I was busy since then.
Haven't been able to watch a movie or switch myself off in total dummy mode since.
However, I do feel that it is rewarding in a way.
I've got to experience the goods and bads freelancing to it's fullest, from the comfort of my home too!
And, I still have some time to catch a quick break with my friends, several gatherings here and there.
Imma lucky b*tch, I know. *insert smirk*

So this is what I do when I need to relax, flaring my nostrils at people watching my videos.
This is specially for you dar. :)

Have a nice day pepo!

Key Painting

My parents bought locks and keys which looked alike.
It had been troublesome for us to get used to the new locks.
So, I decided to paint it. :)

Le me prepping with art
I covered half the key to make the nail paint stick to only the top part.
Afterwards, I designed the keys.
I used a total of 6 colours to decorate the keys
(4 main colours and 2 supplementary ones)

Drying process is a drag, cause I have to make sure all locks and keys are dried before I continue.
As you can see, I've used paper cups and I put holes in the ends of them to make the keys stand so they won't touch each other during drying.
Hot sun was helpful.

I'd say I prefer the hot sun to the cool aircon.
I felt that the sun dries up the keys and locks better.

The end product!

I loved the way the colours come in contrast.

Shiny Pink, Polka Dots Yellow, Strips Blue, Mixed Yellow-Blue and Bright Red

I don't think I'll mix up my keys and locks again.

It took me quite some time, but I managed to finish it before noon.
Aaaand this is how I spend my weekends NOT doing my assignments. X)
Have a nice day beautiful pepo!

Sudden Struck of Certainty -- How I KNOW what I want to be

It was a normal day, me having Business Writing class at night time 8-10pm. Ughhh
What I thought to be a boring lecture actually turned into a life changing event!
It started off as a normal resume writing exercise.
With the hectic assignments and exams due weekly, it wasn't actually a big surprise for me.
BUT, what the lecturer said had inspired my thoughts.
"Resume writing in your General English class and resume writing in my class is totally different. My resume writing class would be more in depth, preparing you guys for the real world of working."

I was instantly dumbfound, stumped and a sudden small panicky feeling creep into my lil heart.
Remembering the wise old cracking of my fellow colleague from my past intern place, he stated jokingly, "Half a year till grad? Better start applying for jobs already..."
I went back to my hostel and rang my boyfriend.
"I think we should start sending in our resumes to companies. Look at how many uni students are without jobs, I want to have a job right after uni, I hope you'll consider it too."
He was calm as usual (charming he is), and he solemnly agreed that it was only logical.
Then I started sharing lots of stuff I know about works and how we must go about it.
After I was off the phone with him, back came my roommate...

Being that hothead I am, I told her about my 'big discovery/came through'.
She was nodding her head all along, agreeing with me in a spirited way (yea, she was a hothead too); so both of us were indulged into our own thoughts about our future.
Unable to shake that feeling away, I went to search online for StarJobs.
Yes, I have that habit of googling everything...
Out came the Career Quiz, and out came again, my results.
"Creative Type --You like to express yourself"
I was like --WHUUUTTT is this...
I did not think of myself as the creative type, I am no good with coming out with new ideas or concepts, being innovative and such. No, that's just not me...
Or is it...

I was there, still mind numbingly staring at my laptop for tomorrow's exam, and..
IT HIT ME
I HAD A DREAM!!!
Yes, it was Martin-Luther-King dramatic!
Remembering the old days when I was in secondary school, I would read columns after columns of articles on lifestyle, health care and beauty, articles about relationships and articles about life and philosophies...
I, sub-consciously, collected magazine from 2006 up till now, because I loved them.
They were too precious for me to throw away.
I love to read about the majesty of travel places, the art of communicating, the sounds of nature, and facts of life.
I love to read about the cute and warm moments in a relationship, the serene peace of relaxation tips, the gossip of the day and the stories, oh the beautiful stories...
Stories about life, stories about love, stories about nature, stories about motivation, and I'm an adult now, I'm not afraid to say it, stories about sex. (it's not about the actual act okay, it's about sex in a healthy way, how it improves your relationships, ass outta brains please)

I want to be a columnist.
And I am sure, so sure that the sheer power of it made me wrote this blogpost in the midst of studying for my exam tomorrow, so sure that I know I will do it or die trying, so sure that my mind is now turning with beautiful ideas and spinning at warp speed in planning for my future...

Inspirations do come in bad times.
(suddenly proud of myself for writing a blogpost on 'exam is the time for inspiration' years ago)
But I'm gonna call my mom first thing tomorrow morning to tell her the news!
Hmm, resume ideas...

Resume:
- I keep magazines from 2006 to now
- I wrote an award winning story
- I had a blog since Form 4
- I am sucker for beautifully written pieces
- The StarJob said I am a creative type of person
- You better hire me or else I'm telling mah mom...

Change is coming!

I know the next post should be my trip to Swak day 3, but I am having some stressful days.
I feel that I have so many to do, but I don't know where to start.
Update: New sem had started, more work to come, more network to build.
When the going gets tough, the tough gets going right?

I believe I can do it.
It's only a matter of time before I can grow up n lead the life I want.
I am so sure that I will & can achieve my goals.
I need to success.
I need to be better.
I want it so badly it makes me stress, but in a good way.

I hope God (whichever religion you may be from) can give me the strength,
the strength to carry on,
the strength to work harder,
the strength to make things just work!

It's not hard, but it's not easy.
I will find my way, and when I do, nobody's going to stop me.
For...
I am a warrior,
I can do it,
I will achieve it!

Courage to conduct VS mistake

I've always been someone who knows my weakness
Patience have always been my week spot as I am a fast tempered person.
Yesterday I've been a bit too harsh or impatient with a fellow friend
I'm still unsure of the outcome but it makes me feel bad
I will try harder to be more patient to be a better person in life.

I used to stop presenting because I know I am weak at persuasion.
Because of that I grew heavily dependent on others
But now when I need to do it myself
I face problems keeping cool.
And that's not cool at all.

Thanks for giving me the chance to learn
Thanks for giving me the chance to make a mistake
I believe with every mistake I make, I will comeback stronger

You better watch out. XD
Good morning everyone.

A little bit of July - OG Experience Seremban

It's been quite sometime, been busy with my internship and my coffee business *hint hint*
So it's been a fulfilling month, I gotto work as a HR ass (that stands for assistant, noti noti), and besides, I got to run my own business.
Busy as it seems, I actually enjoy living a life like that.

Been to a training at Seremban called OG experience.
And I'd say, it's really an amazing experience!
Gotto meet a lot of new friends, work together with my growing team (m super excited to have a few of my best friends to work together with me!) and learn from the best.
This is me, wearing this dress which I bought ages ago

Meeting Mr.Sonny, VP of OG Asia
(looks like our daddy lol)
Girl power! Me with the future shining star, Samantha!

Me and him (surprisingly rare normal pictures)

Aaaaaaaaand my partners! (which is not normal at all XD)

Now m working hard towards my goal.
I want it to be achieved within this 2 months (worst pun within this year).
1 percent.

New experience, refreshed thinking

Of late, I am involving myself in a coffee business.
It's interesting for me to know the elements in it.
Marketing itself is not easy, it comes with interesting catches.
Along with that, I got to meet more new friends which share common thoughts.
Experienced network marketer which are more than willing to help.
And, to be frank, I love the feel of getting my time stuffed and filled with To-Dos.
I gotto confess, I like the busy schedule with lots of travelling.
Perhaps I am more suited for a sales job? Haha.

Anyway, I am only beginning my humble journey of learning and improving.
I hope that one day, I can be a better person than what I am now.
To grow and to prosper with warm and kind friends and family around me.
To smile everyday with challenges ahead and to meet those challenges face to face.
To work together with my partners and my dar, for a better tomorrow.
I will achieve my goals, soon.

My Study Week

Yea... It's a false label.
I didn't study that much. I feel bad about it.
What more with the time constrain, I feel like I'm gonna be needing waaaay more than 1 week to study.

Anyways, my study week started off with a nonsense drag.
I have to go back to USM for a few times for a meeting and others.
Then of course, the mandatory 3 day hibernate after the stressful sem.
Which leaves me with less than 5 days before my first paper.

So I went to Tesco to ease my conscious by buying stuff.

Yey, after using my brain power to mentally imagine body ball and yoga mat for like a few months, I finally got it!
And.... They kick my abs's butt hard...

Then, I went out with mah best bud Rach.
She is as loving as usual, we stand as Women's 38 association and gossiped the whole afternoon.
Ahhh, good days.
Her mom, 林老师, was a really good cook!
Japanese Curry as dinner!!

We definitely enjoyed it a bunch!

Cheers for an awesome day!
(aaaaaaaand we took a shaky photo in the car in the end)

I'd like to shout out to Rach, for always being there and for all the awesome things u do.
You rock gurl!

30 days abs challenge

Now I am super into abs, not because I want to have a sixpack, but I wanna have curves and lines.
30 days of non-stop exercise is not easy. But I do get a day's rest or two.

My target: be able to wear a short top when I go to my Swak trip with my dar.
My method: look up and follow exercises related to this part called the rectus abdominis.

So far, my achievement is, I am able to do leg raises, crazy crunches, planks, and derivatives of those. It's noted that my tummy is getting flat, but still, there are more work to be done.
Now that I am back home, the dieting part might sometimes go out of hand.
I have loving parents who care for my welfare, or to be more specific, "foodfare".

But I do get a lot of motivations from videos like Jung Da Yoen or those female gym goers from the states. I'd say, I will achieve what I want very soon.

To quote from a very experienced USM coach, "to workout is not a matter of your body's strength, it's a matter of your mental one."
To quote from another very friendly gym goer (which is also a basketball athlete from USM), "whenever you need to make a decision, get out from your bed, sit/stand straight up, your decisions might be clearer to be made like that".

With lots of helpful friends or coaches around me, it's only a matter of time before I get what I want.

BTW, anyone's interested in an international coffee business?
Have a nice day yall!

WYAO

WYAO stands for Work Your Ass Off
Lately, I've been into a serious workout routine.
It's nothing much to be proud of, just that I'm already close to my dream body, why stop now.
Anyway, been doing a lot of aerobics in the room and been heading to the gym for hardcore workout.
I'd say, it's been doing my body good.
I've squatted like I've never squatted before, I've crunched like I've never crunched before, I lift, I lunched, I ever hurt my hamstring and has been forced to stop working out for 4/5 days...

Dieting is extremely hard for me as I eat a lot. (food lover = me)
I'd say otherwise, but the fact is this.
Being in Penang is a guarantee that you won't have an empty stomach any day.
What more, I have my loving parents who cared for my welfare.
I do sometimes eat way more carbs then I need to.
Then I would have an awful time feeling guilty when my belly comes out
But I still think it is not impossible for us to control our diet.
In my case, I became calory-sensitive.
Even with shakes, I try my best to control what I eat.

I think it all boils down to motivation. WHY you would continue your workout.
It's easy to get distracted and even easier to give yourself an excuse.
But mind you, in the end, it all comes back to you.
For me, I'm happy I have a group of workout friends who accompany me to the gym regularly (love uolls) , my best ever roommate who don't mind us smelling like shyt when we're working out in the room, and my best motivator, Sheng who has always been there for me.
With all these wonderful people around me, it's easy to get the positive environment needed for a dedicated training.
(Mind you, we're all doing this on our-own-will basis, it is sometimes tough to keep the routines constant.)

Lastly, I'd like to say a big fat thank you to everyone who supported me in my life, you have no idea how much you helped me in being who I am now.
I've become more positive and stronger mentally and physically,
And I will try my best to support you if you are willing to WYAO.

Me eating food in Year 1 Sem 2

Me after my daily workouts Year 2 Sem 2.
(finally, I can wear this pants which was way too tight for me before)

Ps, don't for a second there think that I am done with my workout just yet. :)

Great friends, great month!

I've had quite an amazing month.
I've met new friends, get to know them more and helped them.
A few days back everyone weighed in...
All of our friends had amazing results!
This... is my "why HBL"...
When people's health is changed to the better, I feel proud inside, as a coach and as a friend.
I hope everyone would maintain these great results and continue with their good work.

My past is me struggling to lose weight....
My past is me having no control over my diet...
My past is me feeling without motivation and confidence...

Now is me reaching my ideal weight!
Now is I control my own diet!
Now is me motivating others and giving confidence to people around me!

And this is how HBL changed my life.
Thank you HBL!

Post-1st week-feelings

It's the end of the first week in my 2nd sem of my 2nd year in uni.
How time flies...

Well, I'd say I am now better prepared and in a better shape to go for our new tasks and challenges.
Life is a neverending journey.
I choose mine to be filled with opportunities and fun!
I had:
- Entered all my classes of my registered course and I found out that it's gonna be so interesting this sem
- Challenged myself to complete my assigned task
- Completed a series of aerobics, healthy lifestyle
- Learn more by reading, listening and more.

I am gonna try my best to work towards my dream.
Yes guys, I have one now. LOL
I think the saddest part of living in a above average family is that we are SATISFIED with our life.
Which is good but it takes the driving force away from you.
How many of your parents told you to study hard, go to college/uni and get a good job?
Yea.... Typical aint it...

For those who wanna try to experience a new life, you can comment and tell me why.
Maybe I can share with you some of my experience? XD
