My Green Eyed Monster

After making a quick scroll in Facebook, I had fallen prey to the egoism of social media...
Succumbing to the jealously that arise from looking at what fame or fortune can do to people.
Looking at my friends being chic, enjoying life, or achieving something, I felt myself envying their success.
Looking back at myself and what I'm doing, I felt the pang of helplessness.
I too,  wish for so much more in life, but it seems so far fetch still...

To think of it from another point of  view, I have yet to actually do something for myself.
Yet to make changes drastic enough for any observable improvement.
I need to keep going, keep moving...
But, to where?
That's the ultimate question.

I guess that's life.
You'll never know if you're doing the "right" thing for yourself until you explore everything.
Here I am, exploring my options.
At times I do stray, lured away by my green eyed monster...
Them telling me that it's easier to just start afresh or start somewhere new.
BUT
I've given myself some time to try out this particular path.
And I do plan to stick to it for a while.
Well, if all things do go wrong, at least I lived to say I've tried.

To be honest, I'm actually quite contented with my current life.
This lifestyle is just nice, towards my comfort, but it has its ups and downs.
I wonder if I am able to get through this life for another 3/5 years.
I wish I can do so much more in life.
Make a name for myself, be somebody...
I guess I'll have to leave that to fate to decide when it'll happen.

Well I guess that's what I call the mid twenties crisis
Now that I'm in this particular age, I can't help remembering the last time I met with a dear friend of mine, huiyin.
She told me the same thing, that she was facing this dilemma in her work.
But to me, she was very positive in her outlook of life, very strong in keeping to her dreams.
Sometimes, I do wish I have a foreseeable dream. '
Maybe being 'cincai' is not a good thing too.
Haha...

All in all, I hope this nagging feeling does leave me eventually.
Hopefully, I can be way more than what I am now.
I imagine myself, doing stuff that actually impact and inspire.
I need that day to come to me, sooner or later.
-end of rant-

To my first ever mid-life "crisis"

Well, I'm not really reaching a mid-life "crisis" pe say, more like a mid-life "questioning".
So I am now shaping my path towards education in language and music.
But questions flowed in my head when I begin to wonder if I'm doing the 'right' thing for my future.
Say for instance, how could you be sure or certain about the things you do and how can you guarantee 'success' from it?

(yea, I know, success is such a big word!)
Which brings me to my point.
What do I want in life?

Everybody wants to live a nice peaceful life without needing to worry about basic needs.
Some would even go to the extend to achieve more when they're young, to be lazy when they are old.
They call it the passive income. (another big word!)
Well, Sheng and I had been through several 'business' models that attracted us with the aforementioned passive income.
But so far, we had not found one that is suitable for us.
I stumbled upon this Singaporean blog I'd like to share to all > Be inspired. Be A Champion
And I'd say, I've learnt a lot reading from this.
To practicalise this, there's still some gaps to be filled.

Back to my own story, well, I think what I can do right now, is to focus on getting my basic needs first.
I tend to get distracted at times, but I do hope I'm on the right track.
Well, what's the worse case scenario anyways...
But I'm definitely not satisfied enough with my current lifestyle.
More to go, there's definitely more to go...

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
On a less serious side note, if you guys are ever in BM central market, do give this place a try!
It's a 煮炒 place where they serve incredible food.
It's called the 兴利 restaurant.

Kitchen manned by two brothers

Famous dished include the steamed fish, fried brinjal and fried tofu.

Well, we finished it in no time.
It was delicious.

To the beautiful people out there, stay strong, stay lovely.

A musical journey

It has been, what, 1 month since I've written?
Yes, and I have a totally legit reason for it.  (^ ^;)
I'm now in KL for a training, GCTP they called it.
I'm going to be a music teacher!!!... for four year olds. (/◕ヮ◕)/

This is the first actual step for me in my music career.
Knowing I have been putting music aside for the most part of my life, it was definitely a step out of the comfort zone.
I experience new things daily, I was like a katak exploring a much bigger world...
I'd say, my eyes are wide open for most parts of my training (curiousity + sampat)
But it was a great way to upgrade myself.
I've practised so many pieces and sang so many songs, I've even played on the piano (a bit more skillfully)
I also glad that the teachers here are very experienced and knowledgeable.
It gave me a whole new level of respect for Yamaha.
Awesome stuff...

I'd say going to this training had made me realize how much more of a musician I can be, will be, should be.
It has been my lifetime dream to be a music teacher, and now I'm on track with my life goals...
which made me very happy. (^▽^)///

Chasing goals, chasing dreams...
Yes, I love it when my life is like this.

Le school: Yamaha

Le person: Me!

Prepping for class

Me beside grand piano!

Me beside WHITE grand piano!

JOC concert me

In UM Experimental Hall

Had a fun time there

I've made the decision to partake in next year's Electone festival.
For me it's like a checkpoint I have to make.
Hopefully, I got to try that out real soon.

Have a nice day people!

Peace!

Reflect on Weakness

Everybody's got their weakness.
I do too.
Today I met with one of my weakness - dominance.
Note: today's blog is more of a reflection, the tone is more formal than usual.

Prideful as I am, I just realized that I am a very dominant person, especially when I am faced with other people who are more dominant than me.
This trait is usually hidden behind my 'helpfulness', which I myself didn't realise.
And this trait had brought me great friends and adventures, at the same time, sad and sorrowful times.

Today I lost my temper a few times because of this trait, and I felt bad about it.
I hated losing my temper.
It's just not me.
I'm peaceful loving, but not as humble or obedient as I thought.

I will work on myself to improve myself.
I will not take interest in other's petty stuff and respect others, even tho I may not agree with them.
I will learn from my mistakes and avoid falling into the same trap over and over again.
I need to be better.

I will let go of things I thought was of importance to others.
I will not let these things bother me.
I will leave others to what they may be.
I need to be a better me.

Thanks Sheng for helping me to reflect.
P/S: note to self, recheck exercise schedule.

Juggling Jobs

Someday, I'm going to
- Change my blog's interface
- Tidy up my room and do a makeover
- Spend more time with my family and grandparents
- Spend more time with my dar and his family
- Do some necessary planning for my future trips
- Do some necessary planning for my $$
...

What's stopping me then?
I'm into freelancing, which meant I am currently juggling between a few jobs.
Little did I know, freelancing is more tiring than I thought.
I was snatched up right after my finals.
And I was busy since then.
Haven't been able to watch a movie or switch myself off in total dummy mode since.
However, I do feel that it is rewarding in a way.
I've got to experience the goods and bads freelancing to it's fullest, from the comfort of my home too!
And, I still have some time to catch a quick break with my friends, several gatherings here and there.
Imma lucky b*tch, I know. *insert smirk*

So this is what I do when I need to relax, flaring my nostrils at people watching my videos.
This is specially for you dar. :)

Have a nice day pepo!

30 days abs challenge

Now I am super into abs, not because I want to have a sixpack, but I wanna have curves and lines.
30 days of non-stop exercise is not easy. But I do get a day's rest or two.

My target: be able to wear a short top when I go to my Swak trip with my dar.
My method: look up and follow exercises related to this part called the rectus abdominis.

So far, my achievement is, I am able to do leg raises, crazy crunches, planks, and derivatives of those. It's noted that my tummy is getting flat, but still, there are more work to be done.
Now that I am back home, the dieting part might sometimes go out of hand.
I have loving parents who care for my welfare, or to be more specific, "foodfare".

But I do get a lot of motivations from videos like Jung Da Yoen or those female gym goers from the states. I'd say, I will achieve what I want very soon.

To quote from a very experienced USM coach, "to workout is not a matter of your body's strength, it's a matter of your mental one."
To quote from another very friendly gym goer (which is also a basketball athlete from USM), "whenever you need to make a decision, get out from your bed, sit/stand straight up, your decisions might be clearer to be made like that".

With lots of helpful friends or coaches around me, it's only a matter of time before I get what I want.

BTW, anyone's interested in an international coffee business?
Have a nice day yall!

Post-1st week-feelings

It's the end of the first week in my 2nd sem of my 2nd year in uni.
How time flies...

Well, I'd say I am now better prepared and in a better shape to go for our new tasks and challenges.
Life is a neverending journey.
I choose mine to be filled with opportunities and fun!
I had:
- Entered all my classes of my registered course and I found out that it's gonna be so interesting this sem
- Challenged myself to complete my assigned task
- Completed a series of aerobics, healthy lifestyle
- Learn more by reading, listening and more.

I am gonna try my best to work towards my dream.
Yes guys, I have one now. LOL
I think the saddest part of living in a above average family is that we are SATISFIED with our life.
Which is good but it takes the driving force away from you.
How many of your parents told you to study hard, go to college/uni and get a good job?
Yea.... Typical aint it...

For those who wanna try to experience a new life, you can comment and tell me why.
Maybe I can share with you some of my experience? XD
