Inspiration!

First, I'll cut to the chase by skipping my usual 'sorry it's been a while' crap.
I have been working in a secondary school now as a permanent teacher, and the workload had really weighed me down a lil.
It's not easy to balance getting a Masters degree and simultaneously getting your day-to-day tasks checked.
However, I'm glad to say I am fortunate to have my family's full support and my bf's love to fuel me.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Announcement: I'm checking off my bucket list one by one!
Hahaha, sounds more like a big review, but I promise you it's legit... somewhat.
I don't really have a bucket list, so well, I sort of borrowed my bucket list from others.
It's all pretty similar, right? Doing things that you would like to do before you kick the bucket in the end...
FIRST, challenging my own fear of heights.
I'm going skydiving! Gahhhh!
Definitely sounds surreal to me ever since the minute I signed myself and a few of my friends up.
Well, that's the first of many to come.
Hopefully, I'll get the chance to update my blog more frequently.
Go Wendy! Whoooo!
-Self-cheering is so cheesy tho. But Yey Me!-
Till next time.
A recent Chinese Orchestra performance I've been to

Year of the Hustle

I came across this concept after watching JK Films peeps talking about how 2015 was their year of the hustle.
They explained how they doubled their efforts and their time spent to make better videos and to keep their fans entertained in general, which in return, gives great revenue.
I liked how they introduce this concept and their plans to make everything work.
So I've decided to make 2016 my YEAR OF THE HUSTLE!

I'd summarize my 2015 in one word: confused.
I was pretty lost as I've not set a clear direction as to what I am to do and how am I going to do it.
Being a freshie, I simply don't know what I want to do.
It was a year of finding myself, trying out stuff and generally knocking my head into many things at once.
I made many crazy decisions, all which I had not regretted so far as, well, that's just me finding me. :D

This year, my prime target is to fill my free time doing productive things.
After my tiny fallback last year - not being able to get Masters - I'm now refreshed and back at it again.
Tuitions are now more frequent and I have more 'kangtaos' going on, which is nice.
I'm involved in much more teaching practices and more opportunities.
I'm also trying to applying for Masters yet again, hopefully I can get it this time round.
I hope that this will be the year I get to outgrow myself!

Anyways, I'm still fortunate enough to have time for my friends and some gatherings here and there.
I really appreciate everyone that's in my life now that I'm more occupied and hustling.
I love all of you and thank all of you for your constant support and care.
Let's make 2016 a year worth remembering!

To end this short update, I'd like to introduce my now grown-up chicks!
They are the most adorable thing to me, and they always have a way to make me smile.

Have a nice day pepo!
Smile!

I need a plan

Well, the news about me being rejected by USM Masters was a sudden turn of events.
For whatever reason it was, I didn't particularly feel sad.
I feel kinda glad too in a way cause, I'm not sure if continuing my studies would be a good step for me.
I am now confused and perplexed as to what will my next step be.
Perhaps I should go and look for the Dean and appeal.
OR... I can explore the other options in life?

I believe that life changes happen for a reason.
Perhaps this is the time for me to actually get up and do something...
Even though now I'm actually in a sweet spot, juggling between 2 main (but part time) jobs.
But, the pay is still minimal to the extent that I have to use a magnifying glass to see my paychecks.

I actually have a checklist for myself to self evaluate, and the results are actually more confusing than ever.
See below:
1. Am I satisfied with my current lifestyle? If not, which part?
Yes, but things can be better, paycheck wise.

2. Do I want to work full time (office job)?
No, unless I really have to.

3. How am I going to cover my expenses?
Taking more jobs or earning more money, whichever comes naturally for me.

4. What are my short term plans?
I have a list of things to do lined up for me, but I don't have the means to complete it. I need to get more money. I prefer working on a project of some sort, be it a business idea or just some on the side writing projects or so.

5. How am I going to achieve the above?
... This is where I got stuck.

This is usually where the story comes to a magical twist of events right?
Ugh, I really got to do SOMETHING to change my life.
Well, at least I got one thing down, which is maintaining my healthy daily exercise routine.
I believe, if I have more healthy routines, it would help me in my future too...
C'on Wendy, think...
I need a plan.

Supp guys, thanks for reading my blog.
It does get personal sometimes, cause I really do need to get it off my chest.
I'm routing for a change in my life.
Trying new things or just switching my current life up a notch.
Hopefully I get to enjoy the things I want.
As for you guys out there, if you're too struggling like me, I hope you have better luck at coming up with solutions to your problems.
I'm sure the solution will pop up someday, soon enough.
Let's keep the fire burning yo!

Pictures of my chickens to keep you energized!

Reflect on Weakness

Everybody's got their weakness.
I do too.
Today I met with one of my weakness - dominance.
Note: today's blog is more of a reflection, the tone is more formal than usual.

Prideful as I am, I just realized that I am a very dominant person, especially when I am faced with other people who are more dominant than me.
This trait is usually hidden behind my 'helpfulness', which I myself didn't realise.
And this trait had brought me great friends and adventures, at the same time, sad and sorrowful times.

Today I lost my temper a few times because of this trait, and I felt bad about it.
I hated losing my temper.
It's just not me.
I'm peaceful loving, but not as humble or obedient as I thought.

I will work on myself to improve myself.
I will not take interest in other's petty stuff and respect others, even tho I may not agree with them.
I will learn from my mistakes and avoid falling into the same trap over and over again.
I need to be better.

I will let go of things I thought was of importance to others.
I will not let these things bother me.
I will leave others to what they may be.
I need to be a better me.

Thanks Sheng for helping me to reflect.
P/S: note to self, recheck exercise schedule.

Sudden Struck of Certainty -- How I KNOW what I want to be

It was a normal day, me having Business Writing class at night time 8-10pm. Ughhh
What I thought to be a boring lecture actually turned into a life changing event!
It started off as a normal resume writing exercise.
With the hectic assignments and exams due weekly, it wasn't actually a big surprise for me.
BUT, what the lecturer said had inspired my thoughts.
"Resume writing in your General English class and resume writing in my class is totally different. My resume writing class would be more in depth, preparing you guys for the real world of working."

I was instantly dumbfound, stumped and a sudden small panicky feeling creep into my lil heart.
Remembering the wise old cracking of my fellow colleague from my past intern place, he stated jokingly, "Half a year till grad? Better start applying for jobs already..."
I went back to my hostel and rang my boyfriend.
"I think we should start sending in our resumes to companies. Look at how many uni students are without jobs, I want to have a job right after uni, I hope you'll consider it too."
He was calm as usual (charming he is), and he solemnly agreed that it was only logical.
Then I started sharing lots of stuff I know about works and how we must go about it.
After I was off the phone with him, back came my roommate...

Being that hothead I am, I told her about my 'big discovery/came through'.
She was nodding her head all along, agreeing with me in a spirited way (yea, she was a hothead too); so both of us were indulged into our own thoughts about our future.
Unable to shake that feeling away, I went to search online for StarJobs.
Yes, I have that habit of googling everything...
Out came the Career Quiz, and out came again, my results.
"Creative Type --You like to express yourself"
I was like --WHUUUTTT is this...
I did not think of myself as the creative type, I am no good with coming out with new ideas or concepts, being innovative and such. No, that's just not me...
Or is it...

I was there, still mind numbingly staring at my laptop for tomorrow's exam, and..
IT HIT ME
I HAD A DREAM!!!
Yes, it was Martin-Luther-King dramatic!
Remembering the old days when I was in secondary school, I would read columns after columns of articles on lifestyle, health care and beauty, articles about relationships and articles about life and philosophies...
I, sub-consciously, collected magazine from 2006 up till now, because I loved them.
They were too precious for me to throw away.
I love to read about the majesty of travel places, the art of communicating, the sounds of nature, and facts of life.
I love to read about the cute and warm moments in a relationship, the serene peace of relaxation tips, the gossip of the day and the stories, oh the beautiful stories...
Stories about life, stories about love, stories about nature, stories about motivation, and I'm an adult now, I'm not afraid to say it, stories about sex. (it's not about the actual act okay, it's about sex in a healthy way, how it improves your relationships, ass outta brains please)

I want to be a columnist.
And I am sure, so sure that the sheer power of it made me wrote this blogpost in the midst of studying for my exam tomorrow, so sure that I know I will do it or die trying, so sure that my mind is now turning with beautiful ideas and spinning at warp speed in planning for my future...

Inspirations do come in bad times.
(suddenly proud of myself for writing a blogpost on 'exam is the time for inspiration' years ago)
But I'm gonna call my mom first thing tomorrow morning to tell her the news!
Hmm, resume ideas...

Resume:
- I keep magazines from 2006 to now
- I wrote an award winning story
- I had a blog since Form 4
- I am sucker for beautifully written pieces
- The StarJob said I am a creative type of person
- You better hire me or else I'm telling mah mom...
